F/LAB Material Book
A Story of Creation

Stemming from their background as carpenters, the heads behind F/LAB have always obsessively moved towards more and more innovative craft techniques. Their constant striving for more lead to an expanding palette of skills to encompass all of nature’s materials, eventually creating their own lab where they develop materials that even nature hadn’t considered.

To communicate their approach towards craft and to showcase what they are capable of, we developed a book as exceptional as the materials it portraits. By using a special binding technique the book brings together two individual parts into one publication. Part one explores traditional materials such as wood and leather and shows how modern craft can give new life to old traditions. Part two is dedicated to new creations that bend the meaning of impossible. High quality embossing of featured materials add a tactile experience to the covers of the book.
